We had a wonderful day yesterday. Since Sasha was off - post call - we've decided to take a day trip to Bear Mountain. I packed a picnic, and off we went. Emil fell asleep on the way there, and Sophia was listening to music, so we had a nice ride. Once we got there, we felt a little hungry, so we started our picnic. After eating a half of what we've packed (sausage, vermicelli fritata, sushki, tea, fruit), we went to the pool. While it was faily chilly out in the woods, the sun was right out when we got to the pool, so we decided to take a swim. Sophia was practicing for her dives for the next Olympics, and Emil was hanging out in the sun. Then, he fell asleep, so Sasha and I took turns swimming with Sophia.
When we were done at the pool, we decided to take a walk around the lake. Once again, unpacked our picnic bag and finished what was left in it. Sophia was concentraing on sushki, and soon enough, the whole bag was gone. After that, Sophia and Sasha rented a little boat, and Emil and I hung out on the bench. He fell asleep for a while, so I was even able to read a little.
Exhausted from all this fun, we headed on home. The kids fell asleep in the car, so we got back without major arguments.
Sophia wanted to go out for dinner, so we went to "her" favourite joint - the chinese restaurant across the sreet. She had wonton soup and dumplings and rice, which had proved to be a great dinner. Emilka was wonderful, too, he had his dinner of milk, and fell asleep while we finished our dinner .
Dad is back to work today, so we are having a regular weekday, too. Once we find something fun to report, we'll post back.
